the adjustable gas regulator....is that a put on, replace the existing short tube? or do you have to replace the gas block as well, meaning gunsmithing work? I'm wondering if it would make a difference to soften the recoil a bit....like on the FAL.

not real familar with the dragunov.

sfc ret- the SVD has an adjustable gas regulater. This was omitted on the Tigers and the .308 versions of the ChiCom copies. It would require just replacing the gas piston and short regulator tube.

Which? The gas regulator, piston, flashhider, or sight hood?

I checked out the airsoft web site and couldn't find the flashhider for sale by it self, only with the Dragunov stock set. I wouldn't expect the stock set would fit but it looks nice. Am I missing the flashhider by itself? Those airsoft parts aren't cheap, either. As much or more than gun parts!

It would be easy to have one lined. Slefgehammer on FALFiles does it for $20 or 25. Other smiths do it for similar prices. I suspect from PeeWee's post, that the airsoft one is not threaded, either.

Peewee: Ordered one of the AirSoft flashhiders Wed. and it came yesterday. External dimensions (length and width) look the same as a real one. The 5 slots are not as nicely cut, the front end does not have the 2 flats for screwing it on but those can easily be added, and the bore is slightly larger which is fine if it is going to be lined.

The Tigr I was trying to buy was bought out from under me at about my offer ($1200). I found another for that this week. It's out of state so no sales tax, just shipping and a small transfer fee.

PeeWee: You are right, you deserve a cut. $45 is not cheap but they are the only game in town. I even checked the Taiwan manufacturer's prices figuring it'd be $10 there but it's the same.

Have any of you seen the AirSoft guns? What are they?

Someone will jump on it. I would have 2 days ago. Ster was looking for one for under $1200 on the thread about building a Dragunov. Mags will turn up and I wouldn't let that stop my PLUS you are paying shipping.
