I have read posts here where some people have used wolf ammo whith no problems in ARs and some say you have to really clean your weapon to get out the varnish and that the varnish will gum up your gas system and still others say that the 55 gr works ok but the 65 gr doesn't and still others say to stay away from the steel cases. I saved up and got an OLY pcr 4 and don't want to run any ammo throught it that might cause damage.

So i hope someone can shed some light on the truths of this ammo. will it damage my AR?? any info would be a great help guys!! was going to pick some of this ammo up till i started hearing things.

is this ammo made for the AK only??

Been using Wolf in my Bushy for a couple of years with no problems.....

I would suggest that you buy a box or two and see if your AR likes it. :)

I've never used it myself but to many people who know AR's say it's not to good. I seen two guy's using Wolf in their AR's at my club once and noticed they kept ejecting ammo that didn't go off. I'd say it probably happened 4 times out of about 40 rnds.
I've also seen the AK crowd shoot it without any problems.
The spec's show it to be underpowered. I guess it wouldn't hurt if you took USMC NAM GRUNT's advise and tried a couple of boxes.
I myself like nice and hot ammo like M193.

I've noticed that the internet tends to offer as much disinformation as information.

I can offer no statistically concrete answers, but I have sent at least two cases of Wolf downrange through a AR15 and a Mini14 with out a single problem. I think many American shooters (heck, many Americans) are simply ignorant of anything different. There is much more steel case ammo used in the world than our shiny brass case stuff. Get with the times!

I don't use wolf in my AR....with the rounds having a varnish, or whatever they coat the rounds with....I'm not going to take the chance of guming up my chamber...I use brass cased rounds without any coating on them.

Lacquer ammo is one thing that voids Olympic Arms warranty. I wouldn't do it. But I know of bushy/colt owners who hasn't have problems with it.

Thanks for the link 308. After reading what Olympic Arms has to say about Wolf and Winchester ammo I'm going to make sure not to buy a Olympic Arms AR..:D
