9mm Norinco in my Tokarev ?

I have a Russian Tokarev, with a 9mm conversion kit ( extra barrel and magazine).

The guy at the gunstore says Norinco 9mm ammo is too hot for it. But it's the cheapest. Should I believe him ?

Norinco 9mm is fine for use in the Tok.

Too hot ? The Tok is already chambered for one if not THE hottest handgun rounds available, the 7.62 x 25mm cartridge.

"Me Expert, Me Own Gun store.", said the gun store guru.

More than likely the Norinco doesn't generate enough INCOME and he was trying to steer you toward the more expensive fodder.

Actually that gunstore didn't have Norinco ammo, because according to the owner, the Chinese ammo is too hot for any gun.

He also went on to say that the Glock pistol warranty automatically becomes void if you shoot Norinco ammo through a Glock.
He recommends Federal "Hydra Shock" which costs $40 US for 20 rounds, or the shop reloaded ammo.

Seriously, find another gun store. There are LOTS of great people running gun stores, enough that it is not worth the effort to patronize these overcharging idiots.

I'd say, if his lips are moving, he's lying.

In case you missed it, you pistol WAS made in 9mm luger a few years ago. Clinton stopped the importation from China, so now you have to convert them.

As for the 7.62 x 25mm, some of it is real hot. As in same power as M-1 Carbine. The 9mm luger round ain't even close.

BTW, most LEO's don't like the 7.62 x 25mm round as it will penetrate most vests. Can't say as I blame them. Course, any rifle cartridge will do the same.

I used to shoot 9mm czech subgun ammo in mine.
Talk about hot.
Sadly it is nol onger with me.
it was replaced with a EG Mak
