I recently purchased a fine weapon. It is the AK-103k by AK-USA out of Florida. I am a long time shooter and have owned many AK variants and must say that the fit and finish as well as performance is top notch. The performance of the GordonTech trigger group rivals that on my Valmet. Accuracy is terrific, and the thing even smells nice...no kidding...some stuff they use called Firepower FP10. Lastly, customer service is FIRST RATE. The owner, Chris Butler, answers the phone, addresses inquiries in an open and honest manner and, best of all, does what he says he will do. My weapon took a bit longer to obtain as he was waiting on parts from Eastern Europe, which, of course, he has no control over. When the parts arrived, I received a call from him and received my weapon within a couple days. Can't recommend this weapon or company enough. If I can figure out how to do it, I will post pics.

$645.00 delivered.

I got the 1000 m sight too. (don't know why I did that) :)

Ordered it around thanksgiving.

was billed for it about a month later.

Picked it up on MLK day!

about 800 rounds through it after two trips to the range.

the first day I sucked big time.

the second day, kneeling at 35 feet (i know, i know so what?), with sight set to "combat", i put a 30 rd mag through a silver dollar sized hole a half inch down and to the left of the bullseye.

I had two jams but that was because the mag i was using has a weak spring. so weak it won't even hold the last round in place in the mag. I stopped using that mag. No more problems.

should I try to fix the mag or return it to CDNN who sold it to me as new?

One other from that batch won't fit in my gun and another won't hold the full 30 rds.

are these problems normal with new hi-cap steel mags?

do people just refurb em themselves?

I don't think He raised the price, there were some overruns that were marked down. Just order one with the stock Saiga FSB $550 out the door , it's the best thing going. I put 400 Rds through mine first time out did'nt miss a beat. I was pleasently suprised how accurate it was out to 150M. I will post a range report when I have a chance to sandbag it.

So would you rather have this or a Kreb's?

I'm not interested in the extra cash for modifications that
do not improve the performance of the weapon, so I would
save some money with the AKUSA product and buy several
cases of ammunition with your money saved.

I have gotten mine about a year ago.
The best $645 I have spent.
Lost count after 2000 rounds, not one problem.
I havent seen Krebs work in person, but I can vouch for AK-USA
THE WORK IS EXELLENT.

i have the Krebs custom AK-103 with the new peep front sight and the new saftey slector switch . It's a great wepon , i could just copy and paste what booger said about his AKUSA 103 .
I have also fired the AKUSA 103 . I didn't see much difference in iether at all . Both were tight and solid as a rock . Both shot nice groups . Both didn't jam or malfunction . From what I've heard and red on the internet here and on other boards is that Krebs has the better finish . For what it's worth . And something about the rivets on the AKUSA is not as good as Krebs . Like booger said though , who cares about a rivet , or anything that doesn't affect the function of the rifle . I guess it's just a matter of buying the name for bragging rights .
