Keep show us (then) that russians aren't dumb or technically inferior.
But we know both (me because I was born in Soviet Union) that military equipment almost only one area where soviet industry was some good.
There was lot of copying and back engineering so. Firearm as everything was built with worldwide experience absorbed.

BTW folks the cold war not with Russia but with Soviet Union. It isn't same.
Russia was engine of Soviet Union right but unvolantarily under totalitaric regime. Russans happy that Soviet Union dead now more then american IMHO.

Brezhnev did nothing except he simply invaded Chekhoslovakia in 1968 and Afganistan in 1980. Last one probably isn't entirely his achivement but other members of Politberau too.

I have very different vision on Russia. My Russia was defeated in Civil war 1917-21 and fell under communist ruling for 71 years.
I identified USSR as Russia till I was in elementary school. Not later.

i am very interested in this forum - i love to see russian guns that have never seen the light of day here!

this resembles a gun i have read about called the VAL silent sniper. the gun i refer to fires a 9x39mm cartrtidge. is this the same gun?

i dont know that much about new russian developments, but i have a book that has a littel info on the VAL sniper. it only says it fires 9x39 and hast had all the detail released to the west yet.
