I have a MAK-90 that was purchased from a friend a few years back.
Based upon my interpretation of what I have read, it is legal to own this gun in CA & to also use the 30-rnd mags that came with it.
(Mfg. is '93)
Am I right?
To add to my confusion, I (stupidly) never transferred ownership.
I have been told that it is too late to do this anyway.
I have even heard that this is now one of the guns that CA has included in their "buy-back" program.
What's the real deal?

Screw them they don't know you have it, don't ever give up your guns to any government official. If they try and take it then it is an act of war since it is legal to own and is protected under the Constitution. Uphold the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic and that incluses governing bodies that violate it, by doing so they have commited treason which under the old laws is punishable by death. If you people out in California fold under to all this bullshit then the rest of America will probably follow and that my friend is the last day of "The land of the free..."

Please correct my numbers if I'm off, but I was told there were around 4-500,000 "assault rifles" in Kalifornia when the ban went into effect. Only about 50,000 of them were registered with the majority of the rest suspected of being in the hands of law enforcement personnel who refused to register them. Ain't that interestin'...

Believe me, I do not plan on giving up my gun.
It's harder than you would believe to follow legislation out here in CA.
Especially in LA metro area where I am.
I have to drive half-way to Vegas (literally) in order to shoot the MAK-90.
Had a run-in once with the Bureau of Land Mgmt. Folks-since I was in the "shotgun only" area, I guess he could have taken it had he wanted to...
I even worry when transporting firearms in my vehicle. Are there guidelines that should be followed when guns are in vehicles?
I keep all mags unloaded, separate from ammo, mags & ammo separate from the guns.
