I just read how Mr. Barton, the crazed maniac in Atlanta used a hammer to kill his wife and two children because he thought it was the humane thing to do and wouldn't be very painful. Well, I for one think it is an outrage that a person like this can go out a buy a hammer without a background check or a cooling off period. In fact, I'll bet the hammer had a pistol type grip on it making it an "Assault Hammer" which no one should be able to own in the first place. There simply is no Constitutional right to own a hammer, so why do we and the politicians put up with it. If we had banned hammers, this senseless tragedy could not have happened. Where is HCI (Hammer Control Inc.)? Where are the Democrats? Where is Time magazine's expose on deaths and injuries caused by senseless hammer violence, not to mention hammer accidents. I, for one, am going to do something about it by starting a petition drive to ban hammers in California. Who's with me?!

Sick. Hey lets also ban cars they kill people, and lets ban boats because people can fall off and drown, lets ban bikes Lord knows how many kids get injured with these horrible contraptions every year, I for one want to start a society in which all of us live in padded walled homes and never have to leave or go outside and get hurt. Our food will be delivered to us from the government that cares so much about us that they will make sure we all are happy and safe. Oh yah and everything will be made of plastic, so it can't break and hurt us.

This Barton character was one sick f*cker. By the way aluminum baseball bats are used in thousands (yes thousands) of murders and muggings each year. Do you here about these on the news? Of course not.

It's just another incident for the gun haters to use to further their hatred towards guns and their owners!
Time to get on the phone and start writing letters again to our faithful leaders.

I don't know how ya'll (yes, born and raised in the South http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif) feel about it, but I would much rather take a couple of rounds in the head or chest than be bashed to death with a hammer. Lets take a poll...

I just bought a Post-ban Hammer. Rubber ends with a thumbhole grip. Is there a parts kit out there so i can make it have that 'evil' pre-ban look?

Sorry but neither would be great with me however if someone said you have a choice with getting shot in the belly or getting hit with the bat in the teeth, I would take the bullet. 70% of violent crime is committed using hands and feet. 24% is used with bottles, bats, knives or other weapons and about 5.5% is gun related in which less that 1.5% of the 5.5% as a whole is "assault weapons" related. Even with those low numbers they still don't tell you that most of that 5.5% is people using a gun for self defense. So why do they ban guns, it is a threat to thier stollen power. As they say politicians love unarmed peasants.

You have at least a 60% chance of surviving a gun shot wound (if I remeber correctly). I think your chances would be slimmer with the hammer (Esp. if was a SLEDGE hammer!). And BTW, it's spelled "y'all" (You+all) y'all. http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/wink.gif (I'm a N.FLA native.)
