A grassroots effort has gotten underway regarding our 2nd amendment rights. It is called the March for Liberty and its intent is to have a watershed event in Washington DC on October 2nd (Not October 3rd) where the citizens of this nation send a message to our elected and appointed officials, not the other way around.
The intent is to have hundreds of thousands of citizens on the mall in DC on that date. Everyday American citizens will be allowed to address Washington DC, five minutes at a time, through several microphones ... as many as can. We are inviting all of congress and all appointed officials to attend to hear American citizens set forth their grievances.
Our permit will be each individual bringing their copy of the 1st amendment. There are no "official" sponsors. The sponsors are each individual who comes. We are asking sites and organizations to verbally endorse the idea and to link to the site where appropriate.
Here is the site :

Please spread the word. Print out the flyer and the poster, as many as each individual can afford, and place them in gun stores, on bulletin boards and any public place. Tell your friends, relatives and neighbors, and ask the to do the same. We as a people are losing our unalienable rights on a regular basis. The great defender of them all is the 2nd amendment, Please endorse our efforts and join us in DC on OCtober 2nd.

We came up with that idea on this website on that date just glad a grass roots organization got involved. I still think we need more time and more people to make this thing happen better.

This activity has been being planned since May. We expect many thousands to be there at this point and are hoping the numbers will grow as those already involved continue to spread the word.
We'll have a 1/2 page add in the Washington Times in September.
Please visit the web site at :

It was updated today.
Hope to see you there.

I was just curious to see if anybody has contacted the NRA for possible sponsership and advertisement through the American Guardian magazine. Also maybe your organization could place an add through Shotgun News and the New York Times. We need at least a million people there other wise we will just look like morons. Also you may want to do some heavy advertising in California, if we can get these guys involved maybe they will see what it means to stand up to Big Brother and quit crying about stuff. The fact that half the gun laws originated in California just shows how little they do to stand against this onslaught of anti-2nd amendment laws. We need to organize, and we need sponsorship for a stage and complete sound system otherwise you will just be a voiceless mob which will reflect poorly on the gun owners of this country.
AK-47.net Will gladly sponsor it free of charge. Send us some banners and or images and we will hook you up.

Sorry, I'm used to HML and this UBB is new to me.
If AK-47 wants to sponsor, just link to us on the top of your main page. We will reciprocate a link. There are downloadable posters and a flyer at the site in the left hand pull down menu.
Of course, next, get as many people coming as possible. It's going to be a watershed event.
We're doing it in a "leaderless" planning format. This means we're not looking for any denero (dollars), everyone spends what they can locally as long as it is in keeping with the mission statement. We have one guy taking out a half page ad in the Washington Times is September on his nickel. Tell me how to get an ad in that magazine mentioned in one of the responses, and I'll go for it.
It's time we stood up and let the pols know that we're taking no more.
Semper Fi !!

OK, We have the links up on The March for Liberty Page to AK-47.NET.
By the way, there will be a full sound system at the Macrh and arrangements are being made for a stage. The March will be in Lafyette Park. Any common American who wants to address the crowd will be allowed to do so, as long as those comments are in line with the Mission statement. The mic will be available on a first come, first served basis. Read the mission statement, the introduction and the schedule at the site.

Please print out the flyer and copy it as widely as you can afford (money and/or time), same with the poster.
See you in DC on October 2nd. I have a Suburban full and a caravan of vehicles coming from Idaho, down through NM, TX and across the south.

I will try and get the NRA to sponser us, but I need a direct phone number so they can contact the grassroots organization to map out details. I would like to see them post details in the Guardian but I don't even know the details. Please let me know what is going on and what you may want them to do. Contact me at ak47mark@netscape.net e-mail me and I will try and get in touch with several organizations. If anyone knows any veterans groups that I can contact let me know, I would also like to get this thing backed by several churches, it will make our cause look like a pepole issue not just a gun owners issue. I am a member in a Republican organization locally and several of the guys said they would be glad to assist in contacting people if we just knew who to contact and numbers. Basically I have a staff ready to go but we need info. on who to get a hold of. Let me know and we will get this thing going.

Bryant, I have emailed you with the information. In general :
We will have a permit for Lafyette Park for October 2nd. We are looking at taking out a 1/2 page ad in the Washington Times next month. We have contacted some folks about a stage and sound equipment, although myself and several others are also bringing our own sound equipment with us.
We will have a petition of grievances and redress, which we will post soon on the site, which is in line with the mission statement. It will be signed at the rally by the attendees and delivered to the Capitol.
We will also hear from as many rally attendees as possible, with 5 minute limits. We'd thought about having at least two speaking positions. We have a number of popular speakers who have been invited, and are willing to invite many more ... with one caveat, we are not interested in paying them anything, or giving them any special treatment. Just get in line early with the rest of us. Same goes for any representatives who would like to speak.
We are also in contact with several popular, contemporary patriotic songwriters. We expect at least a couple of them to show, and they will take their time at the microphone, performing for us.
We are going to invite all of Congress (at least as many as want to attend) to be there to hear the common people speak of their unalienable rights and the continued infringement on them.
This is about the jest of it. We have been advertising since May on the internet and thropugh word of mouth. We have an email list of activists that number in the several hundreds. We look forward to your involvement. As long as the objective of the mission statement are met, we invite you and yours to get as fully engaged as you desire.
God bless ypu and yours in this effort. We are in dire need of massive civil demonstration and protest if we hope to turn the tide on what's happening. Let's let this be the start.
