I put a Pro-Point red dot on my AR this morning, but it's way too cold and windy to enjoy going out and sighting it in.

The red dot just seems to high when I'm standing in my living room looking thru it. Maybe it'l feel better when I go out and actually shoot it.

I think I'll eventually get the goose neck mount and place the scope down in front of the carrying handle so that it will co-witness the target with the iron sights.

Does anybody here have their AR set up like this? If so, how does it feel when you are shooting it?

Perhaps tommorow it won't be so dogone windy!

I did the same thing with mine and have found it uncomfortable to shoot with it so high . I look under it and use my iron sights most of the time . I have recently used an AR with a Trijicon reflex sight mounted on a goose neck type mount like you mentioned and that is the way to go .

Just no one yell charge.. ;)

I picked up a used DPMS, 600 rounds thru it, no jams and its accurate... Put 600 thru my Vepr II, with no jams and not as accurate. ;)

The guy had some targets he saved showing some damn fancy groups.
But with a quality assembled AR, handloads, cryo'd barrel and a BR shooter or using a machine rest, I'd guess that could be typical.. As 63D said-its nice to get a rifle that is already proven...
