soft receivers

I have a chance to buy a preban Polytech stamped receiver AKS and have heard stories about soft receivers that quit after 2000 rds. I am very concerned and want to shoot this weapon. Any info would be helpfull. This is an original Pre 1989 Polytech gun.

The soft receivers were mfg. by B-west. They were all Chinese parts with B-west mfg. receivers with B-west stamped on the receiver. B-west also imported rifles mfg. in China and the receiver was stamped made in China, imported by B-west. Any Chinese rifle's receiver stamped Norinco,Poly Tech, or made in China is Ok.
