Was on Gunsamerica website and they had some variants of the NHM-91 I'd like some advice on. The Norinco and Maddi stamped reciever for $495.00. Or a Polytech milled reciever for $650.00. They are all NIB and from the same retailer: AK47store. I'm leaning torwards the Polytech since they are always nicer finished weapons. But if anyone out there thinks otherwise please let me know. Any personal expierences with any of the above weapons would be great to hear. Would like to scope whatever one I buy and put a new stock set on it to make it more RPK like. Any info on that process would also be great. By the way polyak I loved your Mak-90 you converted, just sold my Mak-90 Polytech to buy a bushmaster. Think Im going to have to buy another one and do the same scope and all lol. Did you have to install a 10 US part kit to do that to your Mak polyak? Well hope to hear from you all soon.

Go with the milled Poly-Tech.

In another life it would have been a AK47/S Legend Poly-Tech.

That's my advice.

Take care, OUT in Vegas!

The Poly Tech has the best fit and finish of all Chinese rifles imported. The milled receiver MAK-90(16" barrel) and MAK-91(19" barrel) have the best trigger pulls of any AK rifles ever imported, yes even the SLR-95.
The barrels of my MAK-91 is .684" in diameter,my NHM-91 is .668",and my Maadi RPM and RML are .580". This measurement is taken between the gas block and front sight with calipers. The Maadi barrels are pretty whippy compared tothe Chinese ones.
My prefrence would be in this order Poly Tech,NHM-91, and Maadi.

Always nice to hear from a fellow MAK-91 owner, JA. Wouldn't be parted with mine. Does your rifle have the 386 in an oval on the reciever? This is Polytech's arsenal cipher. These rifles combined a Polytech milled receiver and LMG barrel with a Norinco match tuned trigger group (by Chinese standards, anyway!). BTW, JA, are these rifles relatively rare? I have never seen another one, and I don't hear about them as often as the MAK-90's and the SLR's.

There were quite a few Norinco marked Poly Tech post ban Legend milled receiver MAK-90's and Poly Tech National Match Legend milled receiver MAK-91 rifles but the amount imported was small compared to number imported of the stamped receiver MAK-90's. This is just a guess but I would say from going to gunshows 20 stamped receiver rifles for every 1 milled receiver rifle were imported.
