I just picked up a Preban Polytech AKS 762 and want to put on a AK74 type brake to control muzzle rise. I have seen offerings from Tapco,Global Trades,Bushmaster,KVAR,etc. Any suggestions, comments would be welcome. I want to keep muzzle rise to a minimum under rapid fire conditions and also want a good quality product. I currently have a 5.56 cal M16 type flashhider on the weapon.

The Russian '74 style brakes RULE as far as reducing recoil and muzzle rise. I have a pin-on on my MAK-91 and another on my AR. I swear by them! Just make sure you get one for the 7.62 and not the 5.45, because the smaller will shoot off if you put it on a 7.62.

I just bought one from Global Trades with the threads and in 7.62 made in China. Looks just like the original 74 in every aspect and will work nicely with your setup. I think the part number is B-645 but you have to check on that one. The 74 brake is awsome, it really reduces recoil and climb although it makes the rifle a bit louder.
