I have this rifle I puchased several years ago used. It is a Poly Tech AK-47 with some numbers on the receiver. It has 386 in a circle and serial # P47-089XX. It has bayonet lug and came in the box with manual, oiler, 1 or 2 30 round mags with "Poly" on the bottom. It has the dark maroon or purple wood. It is a milled receiver. Came with a removable bayonet with the same colored wood and the blade is so thick, hot butter could be a challenge. Any info please. Is this a "legend" model?
My first post, please be patient with me!!LOL

Sounds like you are the proud owner of a genuine Polytech Legend. Hang on to it, the value can only increase and it still is one of the coolest pre-bans out there.

I agree with Bryant, sounds like a Legend. And as the name implies it's a very nice rifle that's worth a lot of cash. Take care of your investment.
Legends rule! AK47/S
Congrats! I bought one years ago and like a fool traded it for an UZI, mistake.

It's definitely a Legend because I have a exact duplicate sitting in my safe with all the same markings including the dark maroon wood, keep it forever, I'am.

I have a preban Legend that I paid $600.00 for back in 1994 when the ban hysteria got started. I thought I got ripped off then but have since changed my mind, it is a beauitful but heavy rifle, have never fired it.

I paid $875 for my Legend back in 1989. Bush had just imposed his ban... It was my first AK.
