check my message "Please help ID"....so if it's pre-ban was it made this way? From the serial number can anyone tell me when it was made, year, ect. Thanks for your help guys. I'd like to perhaps sell the gun but I need to know what it is. Thanks again.

JA laid it out for ya. He knows his stuff, so if it fits the describtion it IS a preban. If it is a Legend it will command top dollar.

Hello,
I am not trying to claim I know it all but without the markings AK47/S on the gun it is not a true Poly-Tech Legend.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Take care, OUT in Vegas!

The model designation you gave is for stamped Polytech AKs. As 56s has said all Legends carry the model number 47/S. Doublecheck and make sure your receiver is really one solid piece of milled metal. Or does it have rivits holding the sheet metal receiver together (aka stamped receiver). No milled Polytechs were brought in with folding stocks, also the Legends have a double tang (the metal prongs which are screwed to the rear stock)for the stock that makes it hard to easily swap to a folding stock. Remember muzzle attachments for AKs are on a reverse thread, meaning righty loosy, lefty tighty. Slant muzzlebrakes were a real common attachment on these rifles, but they came stock with just a muzzlenut on the threads. I've never heard of any Polytech with a wooden sidefolding stock. Are you sure it is not a resin of some sort? The Polytech sidefolders had maroon furniture that was synthetic. I'm not sure what it is exactly made of but it is some tuff stuff. Sounds like a Polytech sidefolder to me, the model number you have given matches that of a sidefolder, or it could be a modified stamped Polytech AK with a different than OEM stock.
