Gentlemen,

I have very little knowledge of the details particular to the VEPR. I was on the Ironwood Designs site and it appears to me that the Stamped Radius Cut Romanian or Angle Cut Milled MAK-90 stocks may fit the VEPR. Does anyone know for sure? Could someone post some pics of a VEPR with the stock removed so I can see how the stock trunion is constructed. Thanks.

I asked Ironwood the same question a few months ago. They stated that they were unfamiliar with the Vepr and were not sure that the slant cut MAK 90 stock sets would fit. I did not want to spend the money on a MAK slant cut buttstock to find out for myself. So if somebody who has a VEpr and a MAK 90 with the Ironwood slant cut buttstock hanging around, I'd really appreciate it if you could look at them and help us determine if it might be feasible. I already know that the stock insert would have to be trimmed down a bit, but will the angle cut work.
TIA

Mack M.

Hell, I'll just take a pic. I have enough familiarity with most AKs to make the determination if I can see what tail end of the VEPR looks like.

Sure would be nice if anyone knew the answere to this, since the furniture incopatablility of the VEPR is making me really wary of buying one.

I think Krebs Custom may be able to do something like that for you...
Might want to contact him.

Yeah, what he said, check out what www.krebscustom.com has done with the stock Vepr stocks, real nice work.

Krebs has done conversions to Vepr, where they weld sheet steel to the slant back of the receiver, smooth it down, make the square back receiver that accepts AK butt stock, they charge about $200.00 for this.
