Ok,

Here is the info about the AK I just bought:

Stamped reciever (It has little bumps that look like rivets to me)
Folding stock (folds down and under)
Removable muzzel nut
spring loaded bayonet (attached)
cleaning rod (how do you get this thing out?)

Markings:
On Reciever:
KFS Atlanta GA
Made in China

386 in a circle

Model: AKS-762
Serial: CF-09XXX

From what I read so far I think this is a pre-ban weapon. Am I right?

What would you have paid for this?

Should I worry about the reciever falling apart?

Ignorant question:
Should the bolt stay in the open position with an empty mag or not?

Sounds like a pre-ban! And without the crappy B-West receiver, either.

Have you tried unscrewing the cleaning rod?

Since your reciever is not American/B-West crap it should outlive you (and possibly your decendents).

The bolt should not stay back after the last round because AKs do not have hold open devices.

HTH!

$750.00 to $850.00 sounds fair.

most AK bolts would not stay open even there is a mag in place, unlike SKS. The original design simply lacks bolt hold open device. I consider the only flaw on the AK design (I like the safety) However, it seems bulgarian AK would stay somewhat open if you don't release the bolt carrier too hard. But I don't call it a true bolt hold open device since it seems incorporated some sort of notch. Best of my knowledge, not necessarily correct.

what does the attachment point for the stock look like... I.E. is it a Plus sign stamped in the receiver or is it just a hole punched in it?
sounds really sweet though.

I've seen Poly under folders list for more than $1000. I regularly see them in GunList for up to $1200 in new condition. The value depends mostly on the condition. And underfolders are always worth a few hundred more than fixed.
