I heard that Kengs will be releasing the last of their remaining Stamped receiver guns soon. I got a look at one recently and it appears to be a pre-ban type gun that has been Klintonized!. The markings are indicative of the pre-bans AKS 762 Of course with an SP added. Will come with a choate stock. Said would retail for around 700.00 Anybody no more on these???

Post ban gun for $700? Isn't that a little overpriced? If it's a preban gun, I would say it's a good deal.

Have you ever seen or owned a Polytech Post-Ban sporter? I have, they are the best Post-Ban you can get. They are also the most accurate even more so than the SLR and are the highest quality New Ak's you can get. Heavy grade machine gun barrel, all blued with Chaote stocks and really thick stamped reciever's. I got one in 93' and sold it to get an SLR, biggest mistake I ever made. How soon till we can get one of these beauties? I think I may sell my SLR to get one.

Bryant , you are right. Those Poly Techs are Super Guns!! I've got two, a side folder and an RPK both 762. As for the Kengs guns, remember that I said they were Pre-Bans that had suffered a Klintonization!!! Threaded barrels with nuts tack welded on ( 4 welds ?? ), ground off bayo lugs etc.. The one I saw still bore the AKS 762 stamping with the SP added. As for price I'll be exact, I was quoted 695.00. If you want to have a sample of one of the best AK's around you must pay the price I'm afraid !!! I'm posting the info I have on who to contact. If you want one do it soon.

Ask for Mr. Vernon, he's the only one who will be able to help you. Thay have alot of parts too. However be warned that they are getting them form K-Var it looks like to me and bumping up the prices a little. Though they did have a deal on some Krinkov Kits. if memory serves a little under 700.00

Bryant,
The example I saw at a Laurenceville GA show was nice and yes that was retail.
Is there any new info about these Poly Techs being introduced?

Yea. The last time I saw Sam Vernon{KFS salesman}at a gun show he had several of these rifles for 700 ea. I bet they have thousands of these rifles sitting in a warehouse somewhere that they paid less than 200 each for.

I paid $500 for one back in September to a guy in Indiana that found 3 NIB post ban Poly Techs in his warehouse that had been there for a couple of years. I'm glad I got when I did if the prices are going to be like that.
No doubt in my mind that the Poly Techs are the nicest post ban AK's on the market. They are beautifully finished.

polyak: Is that the Ace "FAL" style grip, with a Hogue handall on it?
How do you like the Ace kit?
One other thing, anyone know where i could get a folding stock for a pre-ban Poly AKS, just like the ones that came with them? folds to the side.

Maelcum,
Yes, it is the FAL grip but with a Pachmayer #2 slip-on grip.
The ACE kit is fantastic. The whole kit is very sturdy and seems to be very durable. The FAL grip is much more comfortable than the standard AK pistol grips, in my opinion. It just fits the hand better, and with the rubber finger groove grip on it it's even more comfortable.
I don't know anything about the original side folders but ACE does offer the same stock as a folder.
