View Full Version : Polytech Mak90
Its being advertised as a Polytech Mak 90 with thumbhole stock. Stamped receiver. Thats about all I know about it. Never heard of them but would like to know if there are any. thanks for any help anyone can give.
No Poly Tech were imported marked MAK-90. They were marked SP. The advertiser is most likly saying MAK-90 so people will know it is a AK type post ban rifle.

JA I must say you are wrong on that one :-) I have only seen one in my life, and it had a lot of "customs" marks, but it was a PolyTech AKS 762 re-marked as MAK-90 (in silver as its the customs stamp). Weird if I've ever seen one but hey, go figure!
Are these rifles OK or should I shy away from it. Selling for around $340

I emailed the guy, and he told me it was just like China Sports said. It came in as an AK, was held up in customs, and remarked Mac 90. I guess they did'nt exactly do a Clark Custom job of marking out AK 47 and placing Mac 90 on it, but it should be a good gun anyway.
Thanks for all your help. It sounds like it may be OK.
Can anyone tell me (good or bad) what they know about a Polytech Mak90? Need to know by 8:00 tonite. Thanks for a quick reply.

Are you sure it is labeled a Poly Tech Mak90? I don't know all the models of Poly Techs but I haven't heard of that one. Maybe it's a Norinco Mak 90 or just a Poly Tech AKS or something. Maybe someone else has heard of one?

ak4u,
So did you buy it?
No, outbidded at the last minute? Thanks for all your help. Guess I'll just have to be quicker on the next bid.

I have what I believe to be a Poly-Tech Mak 90, and I was wondering what you could tell me about it.
Stamped reciever, for what it's worth.
It has a 386 in an oval next to the serial number. I believe this means "Poly-Tech"
Stop me here if I'm wrong, please
The serial number is CW-1XXXX
Below that, there is a portion where a marking was stamped out, and "MAK-90 Sporter" scratched in, over the finish.
Below that, it says
"Cal 7.62x39MM
Semi-Auto"
On the end at which the stock attaches, the following markings are scratched in
"GBE L.A. CA
MADE IN CHINA"
It has a thumbhole stock, and no bayo lug, or threads.
Thank you for any info or thoughts on this.
