I picked up a 1917 Eddystone Rifle today and it came with a Bayonet but no scabbard. The bayonet has about 70% blueing on the hilt and the fuller of the blade. The blade has been sharpened but not recently. From about the groove at the base to the tip the blade is a nice even patina. It's marked 1917 over REMINGTON in a circle. on the flip side is an Ordnance bomb and a weird mark. The # 27 with what looks like a comet stamped over it. I call it a comet because it looks slightly like a small circle with fanned lines coming off the bottom. Any idea what this mark is or means? I figure the bayonet is worth something even without the scabbard as SOG is selling these with a Canadian/English scabbard for $70+shipping. TIA
