Last months flyer had a bunch of items, Swede oilers, various slings, bayos, etc. all at cheap prices. I ordered a bunch of the AK/SKS type slings they pictured. The 11/2" wide web type with snap ring connector. What they sent was a bunch of those EG grey 1" straps with the plastic retainers. They were only like 99 cents each, but if I knew they were going to send something other than pictured I wouldn't have ordered them. Now I've got about a dozen of them.
Got a bunch of cool Swede dual oilers in real nice shape however, an SVT site tool, a couple like new mauser slings with thong attachments, and a bayonet that must have been rusty at one time because some clown buffed it clean with a wire wheel. Nothing like using a sledge hammer for fine tuning.
Just another chapter in the SOGed story:p
Good stuff overall, just wish those AK/SKS slings were of the type pictured.

Another fine example of SOG misleading its customers:rolleyes: ,
Last time I dealt with SOG I purchased the Long target barrel for a 22lr pistol. These were advertised as new in the wrap .Well when I recieved it I could swear it had been used a bit as there was a thick spot of a what looked like carbon on the barrel face and feed ramp.It functions fine so I kept it.I generally only go through SOG when I cant get the item at a decent price somewhere else.Sorry to hear that about your slings. You could always sell them on the classifieds forums.:D

Hey can someone tell me if they happen to have an Argentine Mauser in the March catalog? I know JDL got some in and I'm wondering if SOG got any. I'd really like to get a 1909 for $160 or less. JDL wants $200 which is too much for a funky caliber like that IMO.

Redstar, I just got the flyer. No Argentine Mausers listed. I'll post the deals in a separate thread.

Just ID'd the mauser slings I got from SOG. The K98 WWI Slings listed in the Feb/March flyers for $4.50 each are actually unissued Turk 1903 mauser slings with thong ties. The pair I got were dusty, but in new condition. A good sling for any Turk mauser and a bargain at $4.50 for a new one.
