I HAVE A FRIEND WHO PURCHASED A REMINGTON 700 6MM ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. HE ONLY SHOT BROWNING 6MM AMMO THROUGH IT AND IT BLEW UP ON HIM TEARING THE BOLT APART AND BURNING HIS EYE AND HAND. HE SENT IT BACK TO REMINGTON AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT UNDER WARRANY DUE TO EXCESSIVE PRESSURE. THIS DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A GOOD WAY TO DO BUSINESS TO ME. IS THIS NORMAL PROCEDURE FOR REMINGTON? HAS REMINGTON'S QUALITY WENT DOWN?

Browning hasn't sold ammunition with their headstamp for some years now. Are you sure the ammunition your friend used wasn't reloaded cartridges using Browning cases?

HE BOUGHT A CASE OF IT OFF OF AN INDIVIDUAL A FEW YEARS AGO. IT ALL APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL.

I would recommend that your friend explain to Remington (http://www.remington.com/repairsvc/ModelSelection.asp) that he was using factory ammunition. He would also need to explain how he was providing proper maintenance to the rifle prior to the problem. Then ask Remington how they determined that excessive pressure was tha cause. Hope this helps!
