Does anyone have some experience with any of these types of sights on a Marlin Model 336? Are there inherent advantages or disadvantages to any of these choices? Tell me about your experiences, good, bad or otherwise. Thanks for any insight that may be provided!

I have used the Williams reciever sight for a Marlin both 336 and 1895. The 336 had a higher marbel bead front sight and the 1895 really needed a lower front. Your 336 should already be drilled and tapped for a reciever sight. As far as I am concerned the peep type sight is faster and more accurate than the iron sights supplied with the rifle. But, BIG but, I have a lot of experiance with peep sights. I even passed up a nice SMLE No.1 because the sight's on the No. 4 are, IMO much better. I can't find my catolog, but I'm sure they have a web site. The lower priced reciever sight from Williams is much more rugged than the one with ajustment knobs. It also rides a saddle scarberd much better.

Rew, thanks for the reply! I have the Williams 2003 catalog and I see what you're saying. Looks like I'll have to place an order now.
