As long as the inspectors do their job and don't pull out before it's done, I feel there will not be a war. I personally feel this is to show that the USA has no intention to let any more terrorism or terrorist activities occur on US soil or against it's citizens.
I truly think that we should join with Russia in Chechneya (to a point) to stamp out the troubles there as well as Russia join with US to fight against world terrorist groups. This would show the world that Russia/USA (the 2 Super Powers) are not gonna put up with any radical groups that decide to show their oppinions with force instead of diplomacy.
I know that Russia has certian interest in Iraq. It seems to me that with Sodamninsane gone, these intrest would have a greater meaning for the people of Iraq.
Just my view.

I think saddam wants a war with USA or he would have complied with the last UN resolution by now.
But then maybe he is afraid to comply. What if he gave up his anthrax for destruction? Would the samples might match the anthrax that was mailed to DC???
What other secrets are hidden in Iraq?

Yep there is going to be a war and soon.
Personally I think Bush jr. is pushing for this war because sadaam
tried to kill his daddy. I would probaly do the same.
We should have removed sadaam from power in 1991. It was a horrible mistake to leave him in power.
For the last 12 years the U.S. and the U.K. have been enforcing the no fly zones with no help from any other U.N. members. I don't think france, germany, China, and Russia have any buisness
telling the U.S and the U.K. not to attack Iraq. If they cared about
Iraq dissarming peacefully they would have helped enforce prior U.N. mandates.
Russia should come over to the winning side. siding with germany and france is useless. They are not going to stop the war and they will be left out when Iraq is rebuilt. When it comes down to it, is it realy worth it to strain relations with the U.S. over a shithole like Iraq?
Russia could benefit a lot more by becoming a close ally of the U.S.
Countries that are close allies with America tend to became wealthy. Russia needs America a lot more than it needs old Iraqi debt.

First, Valodya, you are doing great things here on the Russian
Forum! I am sorry I do not have much time to view and write
concerning your wonderful posts. I do receive your pictures from Roma and enjoy them very much! Timkel, Roman and I are very lucky to know you!
My question, do you know how much money Iraq owes to Government of Russia?
Regards,

Thank for your words. I shall use yours e-mail, but the letters return back. Is interquartile you have problems about a mail server?
I do not know about any debt of Iraq to Russia. I heard about it some times only from my American friends. I do not know precisely. But I think, that there is no pecuniary debt of Iraq before Russia.
Russia against war. Russia saw very much burning of the people and war earlier. Therefore Russian people do not want any war.
I hope, that the problem from Iraq will be resolved by a peace way. Always there is a capability of peace talks.
If the war will start is will be a very large error.

Valodya, I do not think I am having problem with email server.
I will send you an email so you can reply back to me.
That way you will know for sure if there is problem.
I have heard about Iraqi debt to Russia from News sources and friends in USA also, but I only ask to find out if Russia has political reason to stop war. I know there are many good reasons not to go to war, but I thought maybe that Russia had their own personal reason to block the US actions.
On the other side of the situation however, I don't think alot of Americans realize how close Iraq (and the whole middle east) is to Russia, and that things become different when the war is close to home.
I am not certain we should go to war, but I believe in our Government to do the right thing, maybe they know alot more about the situation than they can tell the public people at this time. Who knows. Either way,
I am truly scared to think about what will happen after the war is over- there will be alot of things to deal with in the middle east,
as well as the possible increase in terrorist activities due to our actions. I am sure the all of the "Jihads" of the world are just looking for a good reason to get revenge on the USA (and other NATO countries). Attacking Iraq would give them that reason.
I guess Saddam has until the 17th to figure out his position,
what happens after that, nobody knows except God.
Take care-

America understands the great feelings Russia has against war.
Even if a war doesn't occur, there will be attacks against the USA. This will never go away. These ideals are forever in their way of thinking. Destroy the infidel, the "great satan" is how they describe the Unitied States of America.
My thoughts are that we must put an end or atleast contain all threats to this country. Soddam is a threat.
If it can be done with peace talks, then that would be great.
The Unitied States has both eyes open!

Volodya,
I am hearing the date of March 17 being bounced around as the date of the invasion. Therefore to answer your question: America IS definitely going after Iraq.
A o tom chto ya dumayu ob etom... Mi, USA suem palku b osinoye gnezdo. Ili mi os perebyem, ili oni nas pokusayut. Pozhivem uvidem.

And now the March 17th date might be postponed for another week or two . I see no options but to goto war with Iraq and get it over with or pull out all of our troops , quite the U.N and let the rest of Europe with it .

My crystal ball says UN is history. France is fucked, and will pay dearly for it's stupidity. We're going to finish with Iraq very quickly, however, we'll make a mistake and leave our troops in the region. Soon after (6 months?) shit will hit the fan. The troops will be attacked by our "friends" in the region, and we'll loose alot of good people.
Neither Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria nor Iran can tolerate democratic Iraq. That would be way too close for comfort for the rullers of those nations.
This thing will end up with a very thorough house cleaning in the Middle East. Something that should have been done in 1960's...

Perhaps staying in Iraq and using it as a sponge to soak up all the extreamists is not such a bad idea . If a Jihad is called , wich i think it already is or might as well be called upon us , Then all the freaks ill come there to do thier share of the fight . Nail them coming in .

it looks as if my idea might work out . Iran just got nailed supporting troops to go in Iraq and " harrass : US troops there . Syria also just sent in a couple hundred troops . The sponge idea will work just fine .:D

one thing i can't wait for is to learn of three new tactics we are using that one General in the 3rd ID said we would find "amusing " . There seems to be a few tricks up our sleve that we have used to confuse and fuck up the Iraqis with little effort in the way of man power . I don't what it is and it's killing me . We have to wait a few years before they release the information though . Kinda like we had to wait for DVD's of the Iraq 91 war .
