I have the opportunity to buy a NIB mac 10. I want to know how easy it is to get barrels for this, and I also want to know if the thing is any good. I'm getting for $1000 if it's worth it. Also, can someone tell me if there is a way to reduce the cyclic rate of this gun?

Pricing depends on a number of things. Is it a .45 or 9MM, Powder Springs, RPB, Jersey Arms, Texas? 1K seems to be pretty decent for a NIB MAC-10 .45 these days. The Texas MACS are a little less desirable unless they've been rewelded. Barrels and parts are easy to come by. I know there are slowfire conversions for the MAC 11/9's but I don't know about the 10's. You could always have a heavy bolt made but the thing was really built to be a slug hose. Good luck.

The M10 9mm is heavier than the M11. $1K is about right for a NIB model. .45 is probably more desireable for a Mac10, but hey its cheap full auto fun. As said above, just be careful about Texas Macs re the welding. You won't lose money but be sure it is on a Form 3, or Form 4 if in your state. And be sure you are 21. Transfer takes about 3-5 months once it is in your state either in your Class 3 dealer's hands or the in state Form 4 seller.

The MAC 10/9 is the most fun you can have with your pants on. just my opinion...
Seriously, have fun. I love mine.
A quick note. My M10/9 was finicky in regards to which magazines it would use reliably. It wouldn't run right with the mags from Et Cetera, or RPB. I talked to Ruben and got the old 1972 Walther mags that had been converted just for the M10/9, and they run flawlessly. Your experiences may differ, but just keep it in mind before you buy a whole bunch of mags. You might try one or two of several different types, and find the kind that runs best with your gun and buy just that type. I wish now that someone had told me this when I bought mine. I would have saved some serious cash.

A good source for parts would be cobray.com
