Dad gave me a Mauser need some info on it.

Out of the blue tonight my dad gave me a Spanish Mauser, and a handmade Bowie Knife. The only problem with the Mauser is that the firing pin is broke. It is a 3 lug pin, and he said he couldn't never find one.

Its in 7mm Mauser, and was made in 1898, pretty decent metal, he sporterized it back in the 70's, when he couldn't afford a high priced deer gun.

Anyone know where I can find a firing pin for it?

I am not sure which model you have, an 1893 or if it's an 1895. Can you post some close up pictures of the action and the bolt?

I am pretty sure it is the 1893, I will see if I can get ahold of my sisters digital.

A 93 bolt will be flat on the bottom while a 95 will be rounded. A 95 bolt will work in a 93 action but not vis a versa. A 93 bolt will also have a vent hole in the bolt head. The 95 will not. HTH

I have a turned down bolt handle, vent head, and only one small flat spot on the bottom of it.
