No posts since the 9th, c'mon guys.

I had this beauty out last Sunday for an 800rd "feast" along with a Poly underfolder and an SAR1. Got 'em all cleaned up and smelling like Kroil now.

Way more pics of all of them in my sig.

I hope to soon be a member of this ELITE group. I have a donor rifle ready, as long as K-Vars RPK kits are within reason I will be on my way. I hope to find out this price this week. I spoke with Bob at Kvar and they are just about ready to put these up for sale.

I will pass along the info as soon as I get mine guarnteed :D

Blazeone1,
What type of laminated wood buttstock is that?
Bulgarian? Russian?
I have not seen one like it before.

That my friend, is a genuine made in the USA custom buttstock by our board member Z_retco. You see I wanted a Russina laminated set, which are easy to find but they are for stamped receivers. One call does it all Z-retco custom fab'ed the stock and also made a matching laminated pistol grip. All in 2 weeks for a very low price I thought. Did I mention I was happy?

The PUP is a Romak Sar 1,I bought the kit from Kvar AKU-94,I finally got most of the bugs out of it to work right, mostly how the connecter wire from the trigger to the FCG........you have to grind a notch in the receiver trigger hole to install the double hook trigger set up that comes in the kit, that is no big deal............the pain was gettin the trigger to work right, lotsa massaging of the trigger in the mounting fixture and getting the bends right in the wire.,the whole kit is a polymar type plastic..................I ran through its paces this last weekend with a case of 1000 rds..............no stutters, the trigger pull is creepy and long but it works and takes some getting used too,30 rnd steel mags are a little tough to get in and out,the 20 rd tanker mags work perfect and the Waffle 30rd mags forget it,they dont fit at all,it is the position of the grip, just cant get enough tilt out of the waffles to insert them, hits the grip, the 40 rd waffles work,,,,,but barely..............The 20 rd ribbed back work the best.............the sights are good for CQB,the whole concept is for this.............real fun to shoot..I opted not to use the receiver cover from the kit,it has a big plastic cheek rest/heatshield.......it does not fit right since the Romak has a sight rail,so left the stock receiver cover................no probs...........I am now figuring out how to mount a sling, you have to cut off the front sling mount to mount the front hand guard, you could modify the front hand guard and retain the sling mount, but you would burn the hec out of your hand with this piece sticking out....after that it all comes apart.......cleaned up and refinished in Alumahyde 2 or similar..............so many projects!!!!!!!!!!:D

that looks like a galil stock actually, how did you fix it in place to not fold and did it fit right off the bat (if it is a galil stock)

I love the PKM stock on the RPK, never knew it would fit. Was it a direct bolt on or did it take some modifying? And, where did you get it?

Best Regards, J

Have any of you guys seen those "buy a parts kit, and a stamped receiver blank and build it yourself" kits? If so what do ya think. I haven't figured out how to get back to a forum so could you e-mail to Animal_Mother10@Hotmail.com thanks.

OK here's mine. I got it from Blazeone1, and if you ever get a chance to pickup something up from him and his collection trust me that you are getting an excellent piece that has been cared for and dealing with a great guy. Actually I think he even is selling another RPK right now (and a couple of other beauties) on the For Sale forum.

I had an AKU back in 96 or so ... loved the feel but hated the sucky sights and mushy trigger ... I have the itch for an AK bull-pup again and already have an Ultimak ... any help?

Got it from a gun show, I believe it is a PSOP, it is an actual Soviet variable scope. There are numbers that go along the outside edge of the lense, (When you are looking through it), when you twist the knobs the whole lense moves to line up your distance to the target, works very well, it is very accurate!
It was $179.00
