Just remember guys, in '62 $180 was some real money! $2000 would buy a nice new car, and I think gas was under a quarter a gallon . . . :(
My mid-seventies Gun Digests show Colt 1911's around $157! If I'd only known!
As a young USAF techie living on base, 100 miles from home - I coulda had a nice gun collection by now! Wasted too much money on life's "other pleasures" . . .

it was definately more money to us back then. I remember gas at 9 cents a gallon. Our first new home was a nice 3 bedroom brick ranch about 1800 square feet and it cost 18,000 dollars. My cars costs 3 times that now....but what makes me cry is we cant even buy them now new or mailorder delivered to the house. Man, times have changed and not for the better........
I remember when a Dollars woth of gas used to fill up my 5 gallon gas can when I mowed lawns as a kid......

Man, that was new too. I wonder what FAL mags cost back then? If they are going for $4-$8 now, they must have paid you to take them back then! :D

Of course, back then you had to walk, up hill, barefoot, to the range. 20 miles, in the snow! You didn't have any of those newfangled target holders either. Sombody had to go out there and hold the target while you shot.

Early to mid 90's, Izzy HB kits were $99. Inflation hasn't gone up that much....Hell, mid to late 90's, StG kits in nice shape were just over $100...
