Just got the custom Russian pattern stock and pistol grip made by Z_recto aka Kevin. Blatant plug for Kevin: fast turn around, amazing quality and great prices what more could you ask for. Added the Russian hand guards. I am keeping the original Bulgarian blonde furniture set for future fun and games.

WOW  Very nice. I thought it looked good with the blonde furniture, it looks bitchin now! The drum and laminiated furniture set it off.
I just recieved my RPK barrel assembly from K-Var. Now I need to get the necessary US made parts then choose a builder. I have two in mind at the moment.
BTW How is your rifle finished? It looks parkerized. I was thinking about having it gun-koted over park but now I'm beginning to lean toward black parkerizing.
Great looking rifle

Global Trades here is Houston parked it for me. Their park is very black. I would prefer to paint over park also but they don't offer that service.
I would highly recommend using Troy Sellars at In Range. His prices are very good and his quality and turn around are top notch. He just finished this batch of 74's mine is the third from the right. Once I receive it next week I will be installing a Russian set of wood hand guards and a laminated pistol grip. :D

Nice AK74. InRange is one of them in the running. I have read very good things about them, investment grade firearms, and chopperman. I will have to make this decision in the near future. What kind of reciever are you using in this 74? Is is a bulgarian kit?

I sent you a email with more info. The new '74 has a OOW receiver. The rpk has a Bulgarian receiver.
