Since he says he paid sales tax he must live in or near Houston, Texas. Where Global is at.

He probably bought direct at Global Trades.

Mike

I just called Global 5 minutes ago and they said that they still dont have the stock sets...they still havent assembled any of the rifles...and they cant until they pass the customs crap. How does this guy have something that the builder says does not exist yet? Please explain this one.

A bit of clarification. AK-103 bought a SSR-85C that does not yet have the wood furniture. He also bought a FEG receiver, just in time since we have shipped all of them we have available on the first shipment. We will install the wood on his rifle as soon as it gets here. The latest promised ship date is tomorrow--keep your fingers crossed.

HatchetJoe, the closest thing to real AK-103 is the Bulgarian AKM kit from K-Var and substitute the Bulgarian AK-74 front sight and brake with a slightly enlarged bullet exit port. The Bulgarian kit uses the vertical port in the gas block like AK-74 and AK-100 series. One thing of note, some of the barrels (non-threaded especially) may need to be turned down in a lathe for the 74 front sight to fit.

Using this route, you can substitute a US made 74 brake like those Global Trades sells for the Bulgarian as an additional US part for post-ban. One of these days, I will test one on my full auto Styer Maadi AK-103 buildup.

HatchetJoe I plan on doing just what MarkS has said...this will give a run of the mill KVAR 103 look alike...I'm going to kick mine up a notch and use a true Russian AK-100 folding stock, muzzlebreak, and optic rail and Cobra sight (from Tantal)...this will be relatively expensive but my 103 will stand out from the mass of KVAR klones (hopefully) and be as authentic looking as possible given the current laws in Komrad Klinton's Amerika....AK-103

Hey AK-103 what pre-ban receiver are you planning on using for the folder project? Will it be milled or stamped?

Hey AK-103,
I planned on doing a simialr deal on a prban stamped receiver, folder from Tantal, gas block/sight from a Krink kit etc. All in 5.45. I thought there might be some savings If a kit was available versus piecing it together. However i have lots of donor parts available as i have two kits that were built on un heat treated S#$@ %$$##@ *&^%$# Krinks receivers. Anyway thanks for the input.
