Carbon Fiber

I was curious about the AR's with the carbon fiber receivers. What's the deal? Are they worth spending money on? I've seen Hesse Arms as low as $499. Obviously, it's no Bushmaster but is that just a total lemon or what?

if its Hesse (which is now Vulcan) I wouldnt risk it. Too many quality problems on their guns. Not a big deal if it was $200..but some of the stuff they sell is $1000! Like the post-ban Galil..

I think Professionial Ordnance made AR style carbines (and pistols) for a while with carbon fiber. But they went under. An idea that looked good on paper but apparently that was all. I wish I could at least try one but most people advised me not to take the risk on buying. The one I wanted was the 7.62 that took AK mags. They also made a 22LR and a few 223 models.
