As of right now, there where four builders of the SLR100H: Ohio Ord., Blue Ridge, MSC, and Gordon Technologies. If you plan to buy one, be sure you know who the manufacturer is. If you want one of ours, you must ask for it by name. The SLR100H is a milled receiver variant using the Bulgarian milled receiver, 1950's vintage parts, and enough American parts to allow for the pistol grip and high capacity magazine. It has the traditional 45 degree gas block, vented gas tube, and also the original muzzle nut. It is semi automatic and in 7.62X39. The rifles we have built are hand selected parts. We are not using shot-out barrels. Everything must meet our standards or they are rejected. For the quality and money, I don't see any better buys out there. The wood is also stripped and refinished. It has a trap-door butt stock for a cleaning kit. It has a cleaning rod and the original loop. Feel free to post any other questions you may have.

Thanks,

Jerry @ Gordon Technologies

P.S. Tennesse Guns and Classic Arms are two of the distributors. I think there are 8 distribs. now so check with the one you do the most ordering from to see if they have them.

Mr.Gordon, where do you stamp your company name on the guns you put together? What exact wording will be found? Thanks http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif

Forgot to ask, what company is the one contracting you and the others to make these guns?

It is stamped "Gordon Technologies". Intrac is who we are building these with.

WHAT IS THE DIF BETWEEN THE SLR100 & 1OOH?

I copied a picture of a "SLR-100" off a auction listing at gunbroker.com or auctionarms.com on Dec. 24, 1999. I have that date as a reference in the "properties" of the .jpeg file. The photo clearly shows the following information:
"Model SLR-100"
"Cal 7.62x39"
"Arsenal Bulgaria"
"Intrac Knox TN"

Hence, the SLR-100 is made from a Bulgarian milled receiver. The one in the picture has black Bulgarian polymer furniture. I wish that I had bid on it (and won).

e-mail me if you would like a copy of it sent to you.

Anyone have a pic of an SLR100H? My FFL is getting one in next week, but I wanted to see one sooner if I could. Are these all blued? I was told that this one is parked, but I'm not sure if that's 100% correct. Supposedly it has a wood stock set, and I'm not sure what manufacturer it will be. Are there any of the 4 manufacturers I should definitely stay away from, assuming the external appearance is acceptable? This will be my first AK (been meaning to get one for a while, but now the boys at the BATF have forced me into it http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/wink.gif). Thanks for any info.

I bought an slr100h on Sat. The one I got was from Gordon tech. But I've looked at one made by Blue Ridge and one from MSC. I didn't notice any real differencs at least in appearance. They all had a nice new park. job on all the steel and the wood on them is old with some rough looks but is solid and has a vintage war trophy look to it. I don't have a way to send a picture but there may be some in some of the older posts.

Thanks. I did find a pic on Tennessee Guns' page which is not labeled SLR100H, but by description it appears to be the same rifle. Not large enough to see any detail, but a good-looking rifle as far as I can tell. If I get one, I may restock it in polymer for a more stealth look, but that's just my preference, I suppose -- I've always thought politically incorrect guns should be black.

Anyone seen the rifles from Ohio Ordnance? Any good or bad thoughts about these?

I just want to add my two cents. I don't own a Slr100h build from Hungarian parts. however I do won a Custon build up from new Bulgarian parts on the milled reciever built by Gordon Tech. I have to tell you I won't buy another AK not built by Jerry Gordon unless the great General himself hands it to me.
If you can't tell the difference between Gordon Tech's rifles and any others, you may want to look closer. G-Tech closely inspects and hand picks the best available components, right down to custom made US trigger parts made to their specs by FSE. Aslo, when it comes to assembly the devil is in the details and tolerances are everything.
I cn't stress how pleased I am with the quality workmanship that went into my AK from Gordon Technologies and wouldn't hesitate to urge anyone else not to accept any less.

Dear Robert Johnson,

First I would like to apologize for your bad experience at J&G Sales. We try to keep all our salesmen knowledgable on the latest information, however in this case we seem to have failed. We at J&G Sales (myself included) did not know there were different companies building the Bulgarian SLR100 AK-47 rifles. We had only seen rifles from MSC so far in our shipments, and were unaware others existed. For this reason our salesman told you "they were all the same". Please understand our position when we have 100-200 rifles on shelves in the wharehouse and a cutomer wants to go through them indefinatley to find a specific one. We try to acomodate as well as possible but it is not always possible.

Again I apologize.

I have dealt with J&G many, many times and they are one of the main places that I deal with for certain things. I have never been unhappy with their service not once and I would say to anyone that they are great to deal with.
