I've built a dozen, owned about as many factory guns, and worked on many more for friends and customers. I've yet to see a new gun, or a new barrel with long headspace. Yes, I have all the correct headspace gauges - Clymer go, no-go and field, and military M16 field.
Where's your buddy getting his barrels and bolts?

my proof is the a-15/m-16 is following go to armalite.com on 5.56 nato vs. saami 223 chambers .we have no proof house in the usa plus look at most ''builders-makers ''of ar-15/m-16 say dont use wolf ammo ,the only thing wrong here is the chambers are poorly made ;i have seen rings ,cut marks, off -center chambers and gas holes on the land plus other nightmares ;;them are the east end over shoe used car saleman push in its not made usa its crap i know in other places in the world ,some us guns are not allow like 9mm nato load will kill some us made .but 9 nato is the real 9 loading not the crapy us load .....back to 223 vs 556 watch out what you load thxs and write back paul:rolleyes:
seems like you've had more than your fair share of trouble. The only problem I have had with wolf ammo is that it is dirty, not real accurate, and my rifle's don't care for the 62grn loading. Not good, but not unsafe either. I do tend to clean my rifles after a range trip however. I have a put together upper from parts from, who knows where, Circuits put it together for me, I ordered the parts. Never had a problem with it. I handload, and don't bother to seperate brass or use a small base die, never a problem, military (crimp removed) mixed with Win, R-P, Fed, Rem, never a problem. With that 9mm problem, you've been having, American pistols, it seems to me are set up for the milder American loads 9mm NATO is a +p maybe even a +p+ load, OLY 9mm NATO pushs a 124 grn FMJ at 1250 fps from my KBI P9M. So if you replace the springs (recoil and firing pin) in your S&W M39 with a HD set from Wolf you should be fine. Hope this helps;)
