A local store has a 1909 Argentine carbine for $230.
The bore looks nice and shiney. The bluing and stainless steel are in very good condition (to me anyway).
The stock has some deep scratches on one side and some of the wood has chipped off around the buttplate and right in front of the bolt arm.

The numbers match on the bolt, reciever, and triggergaurd.

The only accesory it comes with is a bayo labeled as an Argentinian artillery bayo.

What do you guys think?
Most things in the shop are a little on the high side, but not too bad. I'm guessing he wants a little too much for this one as well:confused:

Thanks!

Sounds a little pricey to me. I would pass if I were you.

If it didn't have all the chips and scratches I'd say it was a good price. But that takes away a lot from it. More in the $180 range given your description.

Thanks guys, I'll pass:cool:

BTW Schuetzenman, the label on the rifle said it was chambered for 7.65mm, not 6.5. But I was still only able to find one place online that carried the 7.65 anyway.

FYI, that isn't stainless, it's just the receiver left *in the white* or polished and left unfinished.

See if you can haggle them down because of the stock.

Try this site for Argie ammo:
http://www.ammunitionstore.com/

Norma sells it for ~$45 for 20!
