View Full Version : Got my 2 Imbel Kits and I have a question

I'm very happy with the kits but perhaps someone can answer this for me.
Service $5 Add To Cart!!! removal of the receiver stub from the barrel
The receiver stub is that the part of the receiver where it's sheared off? I paid for this, was charged for this, and both barrels have the sheared part of the receiver still on it

Correct, that is the stub. If you paid for it, it should have been removed.
Contact the vendor and let them know.

Wait! Don't touch that phone just yet. I paid for the service as well and thought the same thing until I looked close and saw that they had ground a groove in the stub, parallel with the barrel, and split it. If it's been cut, that stub should twist right off by hand. I'm pretty sure they leave it on to help protect the barrel threads, not to mention it's a part some people like to keep as a "trophy".

Hmmm, I've never seen that but it's a neat idea...

Thanks RetVet. Dan e-mailed me back as well. They were both cut on the side. So do you release the screw tension of the little scre and just pop it off?
If you haven't gotten your kit you better order soon

Unscrew the gas tube from the receiver BEFORE you try turning that receiver stub. Once that gas tube is disconnected and the carry handle is removed, that stub should spin right off.

dan's sporting goods. $270 shipped and I had him do the receiver stubs plus throw in some handles (hell I didn't know if I needed them or not but for $5 a piece what the heck).

If you haven't ordered from Dan's yet you may be out of luck.
As of this AM he has put a hold on new orders until he sees what's left from this latest sales rush.

Presently we cannot take any more orders for our Imbel parts kits. If you already have a phone order or ordered on-line it will more then likly be filled.
Please be patient as we are a few days behind on shipping kits(due to the volume of orders & we try to inspect/select what we send out).
Thank you.
If I had the coin to spend I would order another G1 kit from DSA. "just to have" for the future.

I called Dan last Monday and he told me to wait untill last Friday. I called and he said they had plenty at that time. Sent money order out Friday night and got my grade III kit today. I know they are getting low and I hope he has some by next Friday but if not there are a few decent guys on ebay that do not screw you on prices.
