Just picked up a BM M4 Style and at first I though it had a buttplate trapdoor then realized that has to be the buffer action spring in there. It looks like there is a trapdoor, does it open and how?

One more question for a new AR15 owner. Where to get a good cleaning kit?

I never noticed a cleaning kit trap door. Mine is a dpms but i guess their could be a difference. Mine has a hole at the end but i think that is for the stock to move in and out as it telescopes. Really any basic cleaning kit is good. I picked mine up at the local gun shop. Good luck with her!

Any kit will do, but one of the best options is to get a military-issue cleaning kit. Since it's designed for the M-16, it'll have all the basics you'll need. It comes in a little belt pouch and it's easy to carry.

You can find them in most surplus stores (the real ones now, not the ones that have gone over to selling yuppie camping gear). :)

Like CharlieCop said, get the issue belt pouch kit. You can usually find unissued kits for around $15.00 at gun shows or the various advertisers in Shotgun News :p
