I am looking at getting a Bushmaster XM-15 with a 20 inch regular barrel, not a match style. My question is, is there anything I should be on the lookout for such as faulty bolts, triggers, etc...
Also, what's is a fair price to pay on of these rifles?

I paid $900.00 for this new in box Colt AR-15 Match Target Competition HBAR....Out of the box, very accurate. Later on I will be adding a C-more sight system to it....Will see..........

Check AIM (http://www.aimsurplus.com), they are great folks to do business with and have the best prices. I just purchased a BM M4 A3 from them last week.

Bushy is the best period.

The local gun shop wants $869 which seems to be not too bad. I have also been checking out Auction Arms and Guns America. It seems to me that by the time I buy from one of these places, pay for shipping and FFL transfer, I would come very close to that price.
Hummm. I see AIM is offering them for $699.00. I could get some nice perks for the difference though. Damn, I do like that 20", A2.
How does Colt compare to the Bushy?

I'm not a Colt fan, personally I would only go with Bushmaster.
A just ordered a Bushmaster A3 from Aim and I am really impressed with it so far. I havn't shot it yet, but will try to take it out this week and fire a few rounds.

Bushy it is. Is there anything special I should do to it before I take it out to play? Cleaning and lube are a must but I don't think I'll have the chore that I had with my SAR-3 AK-47. Man, what mess that thing was. It's a fun rifle just the same.
Thanks all.

Hey BRL: I just got a M4 from AIM last week. the bbl seemed pretty dirty, I ran a few patches thru and they were pretty dark.
Is this normal on a new rifle??
Yeah, that's normal. They test fire it at the factory. Mine was dirty also. The sights were dead on, right out of the box. :p

I did run a patch thru mine before I fired it and the barrel was a little dirty.

Most factory AR-15's and certainly all factory-assembled bushmasters are test-fired at the factory. 10rds, I believe.

Bushmaster is #1, they outsell Colts 2-1, Armalite is also one of the best, my second choice after a Bushmaster.
I'm an AK-FAL type, but when I saw that 16" Bush with the AK brake, I bought it! A very solid and dependable rifle.:)

The Bushmaster is made more to USGI spec than a Colt is. The Bushmaster has a chromed barrel and Chamber and standard size pins in it. The Colt's do there own thing on using odd ball parts that only Colt has.
I have the Bushmaster M4A2 post-ban. It is sweet and a joy to shoot.

I was all set to get me a Bushy and then I did my taxes. Last year I got back over $1000 from the IRS. This year, I had to pay. WTF? My Bushy quest will have to wait a little longer, I'm afraid.

Bushmaster Rocks! This is my AIM Bushy M4. I will be ordering a 20" A3 from AIM for $769 as soon as they get more in. I missed the two they got two weeks ago. :( AIM and Bushmaster are a great combination...

That's one sweet looky Bushy you got there. I will be getting my A2 from AIM too when I get my funds in order. A friend of mine has one and they are so choice. I need my fix but in the mean time, I still have my SAR-3 which will get me through the hard times.

Armalite is the closest thing you can get to Mil spec MIL-R-63997 out of all the manufacturers out there, unless of course you actually get a M16A2 mil spece from the gov't.

I bought the Bush Master disapator 16" bar. (post ban) for 749.00 at the Harrisburg Gun show. Love it, I have prebans also (dont shoot them anymore, thats why I bought the postban) And I kinda like it without the muzzle break, looks kinda cool with the short barrel and long fore grips. Dont hear much on here about the disapators.....take a look at em, u may like em.

Oh my god! Now I know why people still clamor for the pre-bans. I got to put about 400 rounds of my 55 gr Wolf through a Colt AR-15 with a colaspable stock, Aim point site, and 16 inch barrel with a flash suppressor. Wholly cow, that is one nice weapon. Smooth as silk and never missed a beat. I still want to get a Bushy but shooting that Colt will make the waiting much harder. By the way, both of the local gun shops in my area have dropped their prices by $100! I can get my XM-15 A2 20 for around $780 now.

Yes, when AIM has them in stock. But, then you have to pay shipping and FFL fees. I didn't check on A3's cost because I want an A2 and AIM hasn't had an A2 in stock for about a month.
