Hakim sling info & picture??

I'm going to the Syracuse gun show this Saturday.

I'd like to pick up a Hakim sling for my rifle.

Can someone post a picture here of one so I know what I'm looking for??

This is what's being advertised as a Rasheed sling by Sarco. The Hakim sling is supposed to be very similar, but just a little longer. There is some debate about whether this is the correct sling as some say it's a E. German AK or SKS sling.

I got a couple of them from Sarco recently for about $5 each in EXC condition, but with some rust staining near the buckle. Here's a shot of the snap hook section.

Mine does not have the D-ring with snap hook on the end.

I did hear that the one from Sarco may not be the correct sling. I'm hoping someone here knows for sure ...

There may or may not been an "original" sling made for the Hakim, but the only kind I've know them to use is the Maadi AKM sling.

I haven't compared mine directly to a Maadi sling but they do look basically the same.

I'd have to agree with that. Chances are likely that the Egyptians simply used what was available or they could get from those countries supplying their military. I tend to think about any communist east block countries sling, mainly AK types, would have been used and that a specific "made just for the Hakim" sling may not exist for the record.

This is just my guess.

I'm partial to mine since I can take it off the rifle, slip one of those slide-lock brass buckles on it, and have a belt for my pants. :D
