I'm no where near the point where I'll need to measure and determine what size of locking shoulder I will need for my builds, but I thought I'd toss out an idea since there's a group of us here diving into this kit building stuff at the same time.

Perhaps we should put up a sticky (a FAL locking shoulder swap list) for those interested in listing what size of locking shoulders they have (or don't need) and would be willing to exchange or sell to another board member.
There's a pretty fair chance that the locking shoulder we got with our FAL kit won't be the size we'll need once headspace and locking shoulder size is determined.
With a listing established, we could just check it and see if a swap or deal could be made. After all, there's no need to spend the dollars making yet another parts order when one of us may have what another needs.
