Pateince...pateince.....
If you are looking for an unmodified military copy, they are out there andoccasionally pup-up from unexpected places. They are usually Viet Nam bring-backs. I got an M20 on Auction Arms not long ago at very reasonable price. They seller didn't describe it well so nobody elase was bidding except me. Most Chinese military Tokarev (non-import, no added safety) sell with very high price tag.
I am still looking for an original T54, and have passed it twice since both were selling at over $500. Patience is what I am telling myself as well....
Good luck in your pursuit. If you want an import with added safety, you can easily get one under $200.

I'm a new owner of a used Chinese Tokarev 54. My father brought it back from Vietnam and I have the military souvenir papers dated 1970. No safety added on since the import laws didn't apply. He just gave me the Tokarev and his Star .45 model P. Is the Tokarev worth any more because of where it came from and has no safety added?
Sorry, the post before mine was posted around the same time and answers my question.

What is a fair price to ask for an unmodified Tokarev 54? Is $300 reasonable? Sorry I'm new to this and having trouble getting around the website. I was going to put an ad in the classifieds here but can't figure it out.

Your Father was in the Vietnam War and risked his life to bring that gun back. He gave it to you. You don't sell stuff that valuable! If he sells it, that's another story. You don't measure wealth with Money!

Your comment assumes that I am not considerate enough to respect his belongings, his history, and his experiences enough to ask him about it before I ever considered it.
