New to the SVT 40...Many questions

I picked up one of these rifles today and have some questions. The rifle that i have has a tiger striped stock, not a redish color, a small repair on left side of stock near the receiver, a 2 hole flash hider, plum bolt, non import, 1941 date, matching # on rifle and stock.....I need to learn!

Is there a manual that I can find? Do not know how to disassmble.

What accessories do I need--like tools and such.

I take it that bayonets are extremely rare.

It has what looks like a PPSH sling, right or wrong.

You really need to get a wrench for the gas adjustment as it's shaped kind of like the Chrystler Logo and a regular wrench or pliers will only mess it up. There is a company that makes/sells the wrenches. As soon as I find their info I'll post it. Bayonets are pretty rare in deed for these. The PPsh sling is fine as they were used on the SVT as well as a few other firearms IIRC. Sounds like you got a nice rifle. The stock repair is pretty common on these. Sorry about the por sentence structure this morning, haven't had my coffee yet.:D

I saw where the surplus firearms has the tool, but I would love the original set up--I am kinda funny about that.

Forgot to mention that it is a Tula and non-scope model.

Yep. Bayonets for these are extremely rare and can command prices anywhere from $150-600 depending on condition and type. That's when and if you can find one for sale.
