Recoil problem

I recently purchased an SAR-1, took it to the range, put 100 rounds through it, and needles to say and I am VERY happy with it.

The only problem I have is that the way I hold the firearm while shooting my face is so close to the receiver cover that the recoil forces the latch on the back of the cover back far enough to hit my glasses.

I now have scratches on my glasses from the latch. If I place my face further back then my accuracy suffers. I am sure if I could add an additional 1" to the stock length it would take care of the problem.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a recoil pad? I am not concerned if I cover up the tool kit opening or not.

This may be what you want.
This is a very comfortable pad.
It also adds about 1" to stock.

I checked it out and the rubber job looks interesting. I just can't figure out why the strap. Don't know what I would attach it to?

That pad slips over the buttstock. The strap is used to secure the pad on the many different variations of stocks(folding, wood, plastic, ect)
There is also a small 1" thick rubber pad that is attached using the 2 butt plate screws. Try here- www.tapco.com
