That's too bad, I really enjoyed that forum. I was waiting for Alex's reply concerning my sight problem there. It never came...imagine that. Hopefully all the guys that made that forum what it was will stop in here to exchange wit and banter :cupjoe:

You know, there was a time when that forum was really busy. If I had a little niche company that had a busy forum, I think I'd cultivate it.

Wonder what brought the shutdown of the site? I always stopped to read what was kicking on the site when I was logged on. Information from the various posts there helped me to decide to buy a Vepr. Plus the banter was enjoying and good natured. Wonder if the company is going under or they just can't be bothered with the site. It's a shame.

I think the major reason why so many non responses came or rather never did come from Robarms is that they have trouble just keeping their product in supply. Its hard to do business is the demand is great and you can't deliver the products. I myself was glad that I got my Vepr when I did. I would probably like to purchase another in the future, but not if I have to wait another half year.

Yeah-it's also hard to business when you are a FUCKING ASSHOLE and treat your customers like shit, and I don't give a fuck how difficult it is to get your stinking product in the country!!! Put simply, Robarms was presented with very valid concerns by customers about finish, canted sights, etc. and they were treated like a page right out of the Joeken or American Spirit Arms Customer Service Manuals!!! For the record-I have several VEPR's-never a problem with any of them. But I saw the proof of how others were treated and that sucked. It wouldn't suprise me if that whole operation went TU. I would NEVER buy another gun from them.

I think it was a simple matter of Alex not paying his forum fee to Dave........nothing else IMHO.

Wolvie,
That's just the problem. Alex doesn't seem to lose any sleep over things like that. I aint much on your method of expression there AZsherman but I'm right with you in purpose. I am one of the recipients of a sub standard V2 and would also never buy another rifle from them after how they have handled my experience. Not just because the rifle was not up to snuff, but just because they snuffed my questions about how to fix it. I have a Ruger 10/22 that jammed like crazy brand new...Ruger took it back, machined and fine tuned it until it shot flawlessly. Then they sent it back to me with a letter of apology, and it only cost $150! New England Firearms/Harrington & Richardson is another stand up operation. I bought one of their 12ga. single shot break barrel rifled slug guns. Soon after I bought it they sent me a questionare which I promptly filled out and returned. I gave a great review of their rifle as I am extremely impressed with the 3" group at 100yds. using 2 3/4" slugs. In one of the questions they asked what I thought of the trigger pull. I told them it was ever so slightly stiff but excellent considering the investment in the rifle. They sent back a letter offering to take the rifle back and re-work the trigger to a smooth 3 1/2lb. pull for free! That's customer service!

By the way...I haven't yet taken them up on their offer...the thing shoots great!

If you don't like VEPR's just buy those lovely Romainian SAR's and be happy. Be happy, don't worry, be happy, don't worry. Geez, I hate little cry babies. Guys like you two really need a nice Jennings 9 mm Gat for your gun safe.

Don't you worry now fellows, if Robarms does go out of business I'm sure someone else will step forward and import VEPRs for us.

Do Jennings and the folks who make the SAR series AK's claim to produce the highest quality product available anywhere? Would they provide any support to a customer who received a product that didn't match the claims they make?
I'll continue to spend my money on tried and true firearms and accessories that have measured up to the claims made by their manufacturers or are manufactured/distributed by folks who will offer some sort of support and help to those who receive a sub standard result initially. Integrity is everything. If you claim to be the best than you better be, if you are not then don't make the claim. It's a simple program and applies well to all areas of life. If I do run across a firm that fails to live up to it's own claims...I'll do my best to let folks know and they can do whatever they want with that information. When I run across a firm that lives up to it's claims and backs up it's own products...I'll let you know about them too. So far I have had outstanding performance and service from Ruger, H&R, Browning, Winchester, Glock, Remington, Otis Gun, RCBS, Albright's Gunsmithing in Easton MD, White Marsh Arms in Owings Mills MD. If you have a choice to make and are considering any of the above as one of your options, I will vouch for their integrity.
As for my "avoid" list: Robinson Armament, DC Engineering/Hi-tech, B-square scope rails for Ruger P series auto pistols. As far as Robinson is concerned your odds of receiving a rifle that measures up to their claims are overwhelmingly in your favor. I have only ever heard of two (myself included) who did not and have seen maybe 50 or so that we very pleased. Their customer service, by order of Alex himself in my case, dose NOT measure up to their claims. The rifle you receive will likely be worth the $469 that you pay for it...if it is not and the problem does not affect it's feeding and firing you will be sunk. I would recommend buying from them only after inspecting the rifle thoroughly, take this step seriously and be sure to check the front sight alignment. I failed to do this and therefore became stuck. I do get lot's of enjoyment from my V2 using my Kobra sight however.

When I bought mine it was call them and a week later it was here..
Beautiful fit and finish..
Schuetzenman works with the injection molding process and he said the "plastic" is good quality.
Sights are as close to perfect as I've seen yet.
The width of the notch in the rear sight is a tad to narrow for me.
Odd that a weapon with the purpose of a RPD would have such a narrow width notch..

Built like a tank is right HDR. My .223 K is as accurate as my H-BAR AR. I have had nothing but great rifles from RobArms and I have a gun safe full of them.

I have had my eyes peeled for a VEPR11 in 7.62x39 for about a year now.
After reading the reveiw in "Shotgun News" and the positive feedback in the Robarm forum, I really had the hots for one.
One would think that you would keep your forum alive on what is probably the biggest internet site devoted to the AK variant rifle.
I realize that import/export is probably a real tricky business to be in, especially firearms.
It really makes me wonder what the deal is regarding Alex Robinson and his business dealings/acumen.
I really like his products as far as the Vepr line goes and I hope that his import days for these firearms is not over.
I hope someone in the know will enlighten us.

I'm one of the "lucky" customers who has always had great service from RobArms and Alex has personally answered many of my questions. The VEPR K they sent me was flawless in every way so maybe they fall down when it comes to fixing problems?
Anyway, I LOVE my VEPR K, but it is a bit heavy. As much as I love it, I am thinking of selling it and getting a Krebs 103 because it is 2 pounds lighter. Maybe a good tactical sling would overcome the problem. I want to use it for hunting small deer and tramping through the woods with 9 pounds of rifle is a bit much after having my 6 pound Browning .308(did kick like a mule though).
Comments/suggestions welcome...

I have no idea what RobArm's service is like, my Vepr was perfect out of the box.
I did buy some followers and a rail mount from them. They were polite, professional, shipped as promised.

I wouldn't sell the one to buy another.. I've only sold a few firearms and I've regretted the few that I've sold..
A friend used to buy and sell a lot of firearms.. If I posted a list of what he's owned and sold, some of you would be sick.. :D

Would like to know too..... a dealer here in my town ordered 2
5.45 Vepr IIk's one for me, one for him; still haven't seen them yet. That was back before X-mas, because I remember talking to Alex about it at the SAR show in Phoenix in early December '02.
Order must have been placed in Oct. or Nov! WTF!
