.30 M1919 Fixed
The Aircraft M1918 gun made as new, instead of being a conversion.

.30 Aircraft M1919 Flexible
the M1918M1 made as new, with spade grips for firing by the aircraft observer or air gunner

.30 Tank M1919
This used the same receiver and mechanism as the M1917 gun but had an 18-inch air-cooled barrel enclosed in a slotted jacket. It was also provided with a special ball mounting and optical sight, though iron sights and a simple tripod were issed for emergency use.

.30 M1919A1
1931. the air-cooled M1919 tank gun adapted for ground use. Removable single-strut butt, hand-grip beneath the receiver, slotted barrel jacket, small simple tripod. front sight on the front of the receiver.

.30M1919A2
1931. Improved M1919A1 for cavalry use. Front sight mounted on the barrel jacket, no butt, otherwise the same weapon. The Tripod M2 was first issued with this gun and weighed 14lb (6.25kg)

.30 M1919A3
A trials and evaluation weapon of which only 72 were made. Basically the M1919A2 with the front sights moved back to the receiver.

.30 M1919A4
1934. Medium. Air-cooled with slotted barrel jacket, on M2 tripod. New sights, 24-inch barrel. Same mechanism as all previous Browning guns, though with an improved belt feed system and replaced all previous M1919 models. Still in wide use in many armies.

M1919A6
1943. The M1919A4 modified for infantry use as a light machine gun. A shoulder stock was added behind the pistol grip, a carrying handle placed on the barrel jacket, a flash hider and a bipod mount fitted to the jacket just behind the muzzle.
