And it looks as good as if not better than the last. Mirror bore, slightly better condition stock with mostly just scuff marks. Worn finish on exposed barrel, and lower receiver, but still a lot of paint left. I didn't pay the extra $5 to have the stub removed as I've done this once now and didn't find it too difficult. It's a service worth the price if you don't have the necessary tools however.
I'm not sure what I'll build this one into. I'm still waiting on receivers for two projects I already have going.
Might have to look around for some ideas, or I could just play copy cat and go with a Rhodesian scout rifle theme.;)
These FALs and that darn 1919a4/a6 are really starting to eat into my gun time (not to mention pockets). I might have to burn some vacation hours just to get caught up on cleaning a few recent arrivals. :D

Did you get both kits, the 1919 and the A6 conversion yet?

I got the A6 conversion kit in and it looks pretty nice. A small chip out of the wood on the carry handle was the only item of note. The rest looks outstanding. The butt stock was still sealed in the arsenal wrapper. The other parts were well greased and look good as is with no need to repark IMO.
The 1919a4 kit is on order from IMA. They said it would take a few weeks to get sent. Given Shuetz's comment on Salbo's thread, I'm wondering what condition I may see however. Starting to think I should call and cancel the order if not too late.

I dunno. Does FAC still have kits? Please say no as I may be forced.............to buy again! Honest to God I'm trying to think of what I can convert to cash

FAC still has kits. I did cancel my order with IMA and ordered from FAC instead. The lady said my kit would ship within 2 days. A bit more $$, but they do list the condition as being better overall I think.

If you can find me a buyer in West Virginia or vicinity, I'm willing to consider a commission.;)
I may need to keep the shed however. If the wife finds what I've been hauling in, I may need it for shelter.

My wife and her friends always use to joke I was in the dog house. I just use to look at them and say "that's okay. I built it and it has all the amenities". Don't hear that anymore from them

So what grade was the kit? 1, 2 or 3.

When I ordered from IMA they only said the kits were in good condition and didn't mention any grades. I take it they had different grades before? They did mention they were running out and I suppose that's what got my gut thinking later that maybe they were getting down to the bottom of the barrel and I'd end up receiving something less than expected.
The FAC kits are noted as good-very good.
It's the usual gamble either way. For all I know I may end up paying $50 more for a lesser condition kit. I guess I'll find out next week.
I havent seen a IMBEL kit yet with bad or rough internals.
