I would like to see a forum on the Todarov svt40 rifle. I would like to know if anyone knows what kind of finish will match the world war II type finish on the Tokarov SVT40 rifle for a repair?

Only about 20,000 of these were imported. It is not woth starting a whole new board. And Vic is The Man to talk to about these rifles.http://www.gunboards.com/forums/Public/Uploads/Post-1-1607-two_SVT_40_cross.jpg

I found the perfect stain for this purpose it is RED MAHOGANY minwax. I will try to post pics, the darn stock turned out beautiful!
The original problem was that some genius chiseled out the left side of the stock next to the receiver, thankfully the genius did not get to drilling and tapping the receiver, I can't believe how great the repair turned out. The piece of burch that i used to repair is dovetailed into the stock and also underneth the action and then two small steel rods inserted into repair and stock and glass bedded to make perfectly strong and permanent.
