I finally found my holy grail of C&R for sale. (NIB RUSSIAN SVD) My wife bugged me for 2 days to buy it, but my will power held out. If this would of come up about 6 months ago it would have been mine. But at this time I am really trying to kick my gun habit. :(

I can't imagine my wife bugging me to buy a gun, not even in my best dreams!

I Commend You On Your Strength Of Willpower...But Sometimes You CAN'T Let A Good Deal (And I'm Hoping It WAS A Good Deal) Slip By Especially If SWMBO Says Go For It For TWO Days!!!!:D

Yes, Russian Military SVD.

I am guessing these are hard to find, and therefore expensive.

You guessed right. That is unless you are in some other country. In some countries SVDs are neither rare nor expensive. That's US politics for you.

Not that I am in the market, but how much were they asking?

If you can find them, it is $5000.00 to $6000.00

Wow, a little more than I expected. I been hearing that the Chinese ones go in the neighborhood of $3500 and the Soviet for $5000. Either way they are out of my price range. Hell, I think a SAR1 is out of my range so nevermind my question :D

Considering their quantity and price abroad, that's about reason enough to pass on one, IMHO. Neat rifle, but not $5k neat.

You can score an A/I in .338 Lapua (Brit Contract) with optics for less coin that that.
