i know its probably beat to death but best price on an ar-15 kit and which brand....new to this ar thang........been a mac 90 man....thanks...
expert here, but FAC has kits for 399.99. Unless you know how to assemble the upper reciver/barrel group and have the tools you are going to have to get a gunsmith to do it for you. You also need a stripped lower reciver, the gunsmith can help there too.

MODEL 1 SALES sell AR kits.........the uppers is complete, bolt group (headspaced to the upper), and charging handle with them, buttstock assemble complete.....the trigger parts, mag catch, trigger guard, come with it.....they also include the the pistol grip, pretty sure the take down pins, take down springs, selector and the buffer reatiner and spring come with it as well.....although I'm not sure, drop them a e-mail to make sure........pretty reasonable price, all you need is a stripper lower and install it on the buttstock, put in the internal parts, and you're in business..they have different kits, look under KITS there will be a drop menu to what they have.....they sometimes do the gunshow up here, and from what I have seen their kits are very nicely made. they have pre-ban and post ban kits.
if I was going to put together a kit, I would go with MODEL 1 SALES.....there is no assemby of sub-parts to the upper, and all the lower parts are included, just put the internals in the lower, and attach the buttstock, mate it to the upper, and you got a complete rifle.........you're probably looking at a hour or so assemby time...if that.

I have bought two AR15 A2 20" Kits and one AR15 flat top 20" with A2 carrying handle upper from "Model 1 Sales" and all three of them have had A1's Front Sight Posts in them?
I have also bought upper assembly parts from them to build my Dedicated .22 long rifles.
Only had one problem with the folks there.
They double billed my credit card and that mistake was taken care of by a phone call.

Also you might want to check out J & T Distributors ( www.jtdistributing.com ). I bought a Standard 20" postban A-2 kit for a total of $465 (This included shipping). Everything was included but the stripped lower, I was really impressed with the finish and quality of the parts.

I second that, I have bought 3 kits from them and no problems, shipping was fast and packed in styrofoam cutout, very professional.
