Would any of you consider the .40-cal a decent handgun cartridge? Or is it a bastard child of a .45 and a smaller caliber pistol. My opinion so far, is that the .40-cal lacks the power and accuracy of a .45, and lacks the high capacity of smaller caliber cartridges, such as 9mm, etc., all in all, having no true advantages. However, I was considering buying a H&K USP in 9mm ( which go for about $700 ), or a .40-caliber one, which cdnninvestments.com is selling for $400. What do you think?
