Wow.............that is less than I thought. Is the 7.62 x 25 worth more, less, or the same?
thanks,
Jordan
The demand for the Chinese copies of the Tokarev pistol is pretty low as they are commerical not military. No one really collects them except me as I have 3 of them in 9mm. There were lots of them imported and most were chambered for 9mm and fewer in 7.62x25mm. They were imported till 1994 when Chinese arms/ammo were banned from importation. The7.62 or 9mm pistols were $90 wholesale and $130 wholesale for the dual caliber 7.62/9mm or 7.62/38 Super kits when brand new.
As you couldn't go to Wal-mart and get a box of 7.62x25mm ammo untill the last year or so when they started carrying Winchester brand 7.62x25mm ammo. The Chinese 7.62 pistols usally don't sell very well so they go for the same or less than the 9mm version. The import of the large amount of Polish TT-33 Tokarev pistol's a couple of years ago pretty much killed any demand for the Chinese pistols.

I have two Polish and 5 or 6 Chinese Tokarevs.
I go to a gun show once or twice a month.
Chinese Tokarevs were priced at $150 two years ago and I bought. Now $250 is the sticker price, and no one is buying.
The Polish are nicer to look at and authentic surplus.
My Polish are not as fool proof as my Chinese, but maybe new recoil springs will fix that.
The Chinese Tokarevs marked "213" are 9mm only and have shorter magazines and shorter ejection ports. These pistols are less desirable than other Chinese Tokarevs, which are less valuable than Polish Tokarevs with are less valuable than other Tokarevs.
1) The spacer for the magazine can be removed in a minute by pushing out two pins. The pistol will then accept longer or "wide" magazines as advertised in Shotgun News.
2) The ejection port will eject 7.62x25mm fired cases as is, but not unfired cartridges. To increase the size of the port, some time with a Dremel tool and carbide bit or die grinder in required. Some gunsmiths charge allot for this in 1911's.
Chinese Tokarevs marked "54" or "TU-90" are 7.62x25mm ready.
It is not easy to find the 1984 book* "A Collector's Guide to Tokarev Pistols" by John Remling.
The Chinese section mostly ends at type "54" from 1954 to 1963.
I like to convert the Chinese 9x19mm barrels to 9x23mm as well as increase the throat diameter and length so I can shoot .358" 158 gr LSWC bullets seated at 1.36" OAL with 20 gr of LONGSHOT double compressed. This is nearly 3 times the Hodgdon's max 357 mag load and it rocks.

I got the cheap one. It has some holster wear but the inside looks hardly used. The mag catch was broken but SOG mailed my dealer a new one free of charge. Took me a couple of mins to replace it and now it works fine.
