Ok, dumb question. Can somebody please explain or point me to a picture of how the darn sling is supposed to attach to an SAR-1?
Thanks,

If it's the green nylon job, put the hook through the rear swivel and then through the buckle and then snap it to the front swivel. I hope that made sense and helps. I know I puzzled over it for a bit myself:D .
... and welcome to the board!

here's some pics to enhance bgummers post.
lay the sling upside down, buckle far left insert clip end thru rear swivel

pull thru rear swivel then double back over the swivel to the left, thru the keeper and head toward the buckle. I like to keep the metal rivet part of the keeper facing outwards so it doesn't mar the wood but you can have it wither way just take it off and turn around if you want. It looks tidier having the rivet face the wood.

now go under the first slot in the buckle

then over and thru the second buckle slot. Now take of slack using the keeper towards the buttstock and get the clip end forward to the forward slot.

You probably already figured it out but I needed to put a sling on the rifle anyway and I took low res pics so it was quick.

The pics were a good idea Redstar. Might not be a bad idea if they could be added as a sticky (maybe in the Romanian forum?), as this does come up from time to time (being American were used to just attaching either end of a sling straight to the swivels).

Yeah, but I don't want to just go over there and stick this post over in those guys forums, I'm not involved in those forums much. I'll make a copy and keep it handy, or you can tell them to search under sling in this forum.
